Check tread and pressure
Use the penny test for tread depth: insert a penny with Lincoln's head down; if you can see the top of his head, the tread is worn and the tire should be replaced. Check pressure monthly, including the spare, and follow the pressure on your door placard — not the tire's sidewall.
Rotate and inspect
Rotate tires per your owner's manual interval to ensure even wear. Inspect for cuts, bulges, or embedded objects each time you check pressure. Good tread is what lets you avoid hydroplaning in rain.
