Los Angeles police have arrested a woman they believe was driving the car in a deadly hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles. The crash killed a 16-year-old boy and seriously injured his 14-year-old sister, authorities said. The arrest was reported on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026.

The crash

According to police, the driver of a blue Nissan Sentra went through a stop sign last month and hit the two siblings as they crossed the street in a crosswalk with their mother. Police say the car was traveling about 80 mph. The boy died, and his sister suffered serious injuries. The report reviewed did not give the exact date or intersection.

Arrest

Police say they arrested the suspect on Wednesday morning, Oct. 28. Officers found her driving in the San Fernando Valley and took her into custody without incident. An LAPD detective credited help from the community.
